Bullied, a story by Tabitha x

I live in a normal house, in a normal street, in a normal state, but I'm not a normal girl!
24/7 I get called mean and hurtful names about the way I live. Whether they're doing it by texting or they're bullying me face to face, It doesn't matter because they still do it.
It isn't even my fault! I sometimes wish I was dead. They bully me because my family has no money, we live in a small flat, in a gross tower block, I have a cheap and tacky phone which I got for my 10th birthday.
My mum loves me, but she can't provide for me, I was a mistake. She lays on the sofa all day everyday, drinking her life away. When she is drunk, she hates me, but when she is sober again, she appologises begging me for a second chance.
If only you knew what I have to go through, well, I'm going to tell you in this story.

It was my first day of 7th grade, I'd just started Open Valley High. When I left, my mum was opening a new bottle of drink to 'celebrate' my new school. I just sighed and left.
I watched all the others walking to school with their best friends, laughing and chatting excitedly.
I just stumbled behind them, hoping they would talk to me.
When I walked through the school gate, I stood out like a red smartie in a row of blue smarties. I was the only 'scruffer' as they liked to call me. When I walked in, everybody stopped talking to their friends to turn and stare at me, whisper and giggle about me. They had only just met me! I walked into class looking for a seat, everybody started putting their bags on the seats next to them to avoid sitting next to me.
I had no chance in making friends!

I took my seat, in the middle of the classroom next to nobody, for most of the day, people glared at me, they knew stuff about me because the kids from the estate had told them, they knew that my mum was a drunk, they knew dad had killed grandma, they knew he was in jail. They thought I was like my mum or dad, a drunk and a murderer.
I went to lunch, I only had an old apple from last summer as mum must have forgotten to make my lunch.
The other popular girls were laughing at me, they had their pasta and apples and orange juice. I had nothing.

I went outside and saw the girls looking at me and laughing, their beautiful tanned faces beamed at my dull, lank pale face. Then It was time to go inside, when I was going inside, thats when it happened, I heard my phone vibrate, It picked it up and looked at it. It was from Mr.Anonymous, but all the girls were watching me and I knew instantly it was them. My phone started ringing then and I picked it up. STUPID GIRL they shouted. I had no life.

I rushed inside my home crying my eyes out! My mum was asleep on the sofa with a bottle in her hand. I ran into my room and jumped on my bed, I wanted it to be over!
My phone vibrated, FAT UGLY GIRL!! the text read. I started crying and wished my life was over. I knew I would have to go and cope with this for the rest of my childhood. Any normal child would tell their parents and sort it out, but I couldn't. Most of the time my mum was laying on the sofa or on her bed, sometimes with a guy. I knew what this meant, If it carried on, I would kill myself.

You know the saying 'Time flys when you're having fun'? Well, all I can say is that time is not flying, it feels like everytime the clock ticks an hour has been by. I look up to all these famous popstars and models, they say they have been through bad, I have been through worse. I pick up my awful phone and throw it into the landing where it smashes. I rush over to it and place the pieces together and it won't turn on! I see the noise has woken up my mum whos eyes grow bigger and bigger at every step she takes, she slaps my across my face! YOU AWFUL HORRID CHILD, YOU WERE A MISTAKE I NEVER MEANT TO HAVE. She kept on beating me.

I wake up in the morning with bruises galore, scars and marks all over my body, the biggest bruise is on my face, just below my swollen mouth. I open my bedroom door and look around, no sign of my mum, probably laying in a ditch somewhere I hoped. My beatings were stinging and hurting and then I saw my opportunity, mum had always said that whisky takes away the pain, I put the old Jack Daniels bottle to my mouth and glugged, the room suddenly started spinning but I couldn't feel pain, I walked out of the house, head held high until I fell into a bush. All the children around me who were also walking to school were taking pictures on their smartphones and recording my humiliation. My life sucked!

I stumbled into school with a possibly broken ankle, they were all laughing at me, I was so humiliated! I fell into the door still completely drunk then a teacher rushed over to me, she must have smelt my breath, the sickly smell of alcohol sent shivers down my long boney spine.
Shes drunk, the teacher shouted and another 2 teachers came rushing out. I was rushed to the school nurse where 2 boys sat, they had been fighting. The nurse walked over to me, well, what do we have here? she asked.
This girl is drunk, she's only 13! Oh, said the nurse.
I suddenly fainted on the spot!

When I awoke, there were around 5 people standing over me, just staring, one of the boys said "Dang! Her breath smells GOOD!"
I looked around the room desperate for guidance, but everybody just kept on staring, I got up and tried to run but just fell on the floor, the nurse steered me onto my feet and sat me back down, I turned my head and saw my drunk mother glaring angrily my way, I knew what was coming when I got home.
We walked home in silence, my mum turned the key wobbily then opened the door and slammed it behind her, I had my second beating that week, I went into my room and looked at my recently fixed phone, 11 new messages and 6 missed calls, they all hurt.
