Re: Ask Amber!
Do people there speak English? What is the main language spoken there? At school, do you speak English or Afrikaans?

Yes, badically everyone in the Western Province (where I live) speaks English. Everyone in my school, their first language is English, its only the Zulu's and Xhosa's who have English as therir second language.
English is the main language, in the area where I live.
I speak English at school, and I take Afrikaans and Xhosa (as second and third language)
Thanks for the questions

No, I don't live in Australia//New Zealand.
We have a democratic government// republic.
So every four years everybody over the age of 18 gets to vote for the party they want to rule SA. (:
Some words are different to other countries, the ones I've noticed are,
we spell it:
coloUr, not color
favoUrite, not favorite
If I come across anymore, I'll let you know(:
Thanks for the questions!

Yes we do!
In grade 8, we do;
English (1st language)
Afrikaans (2nd language)
Xhosa & French (3rd language)
then in grade 9, we get to choose between Xhosa and French, so I chose Xhosa,
so now i do English, Afrikaans and Xhosa.
(:
My parents did German at school though, it seems hard.
Thanks Fran(:

Re: Ask Amber!
@Sophie - my family or ancestors moved to South Africa from France in the mid 1700's, so that's why I live in S Africa, and my parents love it here and don't want to movec:
So I never moved here, I was always here c:
@Lauren - I guess what everybody else does?(:
On weekends we go to movies, to parties, to the mall and get supper and shop, etc.
We have school like normal people (:
And watch tv and so on (;
Thanks for the questions guys!

Do you have American TV shows (like Spongebob Squarepants and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) in South Africa?

The main tv shows for kids, are disney channel, nickolodean, cartoon network and boomerang c:

Cool. We used to have Boomerang, but after we switched to digital cable, they didn't have it on there, lol. I miss it.
