About the New Mod ~Caryn

I know, the deal was, when we reach 1000 members, there will be a new mod. The whole idea behind this was that, at 1000 members, there would constantly be A LOT of members in the chatbox. But even as we reach such a high number, there isn't much people on in the chatbox...
If you want a new mod(s), there will have to be at least 6 people in the chatbox everyday,at random times. We need more active members guys

Give me your thoughts below, be considerate, and I'll answer your questions.

Question/Thought: A lot of us are in different time zones. Like when its midnight for me and I randomly go on chatbox, I see UK peeps on saying that it's morning/midday for them.

So like, we can't always have around 6 people on the chatbox. How will we get to know the mod then?

Im usually on the chat, but my cousin had a doctors appointment and i had a report due. So im sorry i missed today, but i try to be active every day but sometimes i have important stuff

I will try to be much more active and I am trying to come on every day.

I come on nearly every hour now that I'm on a spring break. And not at any hour, is there more than 4 people in the chatbox So I already thought about the time zones, but that doesn't seem to be an issue :/

As long as there will be more active users online and in the chatbox, we can get new jobs and mods

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm on almost every day, but school can get tough. Can't wait to see who the mod is! Maybe we could do a contest/voting like we did for the admin?

I don't think we should have an election becuase it all turns into a popularity contest and then job ends up in the wrong hands. Plus, it's not fair for the people who don't have that many friends and are PERFECT for the job. I am just worried that the job will end up with someone, where there is someone nore deseving of it. like someone who is really nice and has been here for a while
wants to be a mod and got turned down multiple times, versus someone who never had intrest and joined a month ago and still doesen't understand half the forum and is also popular. maybe the people who are aiming for the job can submit an application to a thread and caryn or someone can pick. c: or maybe caryn just picks. LOL

@Amy I have to agree on that one. A lot of things are about popularity.

Awwwww i get on like literally 5 hours a day!!! Yesh yesh i have no life jk lol but i do come on a lot and there is usually a lot of people on (no joke about the like 5 hours a day, I'm obsessed lol)

Amy, I totally agree with you on that one. Actually, even though I brought up that idea for voting, I now think that it's a bad idea. People who have been here since 2011 SO deserve it, and it's true that sadly, they may not get as many votes. I wish that we could all be mods or admins, but then BP would be CRAZY! Lol we'd be locking stuff right and left, and deleting stuff and changing names and changing the background and... EVERYTHING! Lol... we the BP family... are cray.

And I have school so it makes it hard to be on every day I come on after and before school and theres lots of people on the chat box

I usally manage to get on as much as i can everyday and its slightly hard getting on because of the timezone but i can manage. Plus i can balance school work with Bp quite well so i don't have many problems with it

I don't think the election idea is a good idea. Like i highlighted in a previous thread about elections, they are usually based on popularity and friendship instead of who'd be the most committed to the job.
I think personally Caryn should just pick the mod since that would be easier and i'm sure she'll pick a person who is great for the job i also think it should be someone whose been on for a while and who hasn't joined recently.
I know that voting would give everyone an opinion but sometimes voting can be one-sided if everyone on this forum is best friends with each other.(:

Btw just to say like fran says, that the person who will be the Mod needs to be like me. {lool.}. They need to be an oldish member, with experience and who will be commited to come on everyday. This is why we need more people to come on every day, so we can see whose active..

I personally think we should have like a contest thing. Not too competitive, but like we fill out a form and say why we'd like to join and everything (which could be judged by the mods), or the mods could look at everyone's activity and join date and everything? Idk. ahaa. c:
