Hi, I'm Dustrose Anatomy. I'm a military brat, means that my dad’s in the army. We live in the deathly Death Valley in California. Wondering where my mom is? Dead. Up yonder. Heaven. Where do you think I’M at when my Dad’s at the army? Home. Only with my dog Moose, a huge German Shephard. I'm pretty down to survival. But with this story, it gets crazy, I tell yeh. 

Çhãptęr 1~*Until the Sun Sets

I sat at the breakfast table, waiting for my Dad to come. He's not been here for at least 6 months. I wonder if something horrible happened to him. He's overseas, after all. Suddenly a blazing hot wind hits my face. I see my dog Moose laying on the floor, belly-side up. 
“Oh, Moose,” I whisper to his scruffy little ear. “He’ll be here. I promise.” 
Although I said that, I had a great feeling that it was a lie. 

At the rest of the day, I pretty much laid on the beat up leather couch with patches of cloth; and pacing back and forth from our pathetic little cottage. I whispered Moose a lie again, “He’ll be here, Moose, until the sun sets.”
Although I thought it WAS a lie, I've been corrected.
As I took a can of tuna fish from the pantry and slipped it on my plate, I heard a distant ‘vrum’. It got louder, suddenly to a ‘vroom’. Then it went very much closer, most likely like my father’s motorcycle. ‘VROOM, VROOM’ it went. Then I heard it stop near our house. The figure on the motorcycle shook off his helmet. 
“DADDY!”

Çhàptér 2~*Unbearable News

I ran outside to hug my Dad. 
“Oh, hey sport..” he whispered. 
I stopped hugging him for a second.
“Wha-You haven't spoke to me for over half a year, Dad. What's up with you?” I interrogated. 
“Nothing! I missed you, Pumpkin. How's M-” His voice got cut off; Moose ran toward him and knocked him down, licking his face. I chuckled. 
“That answered you,” I joked.
“Sure did.” My dad said, “Look Dust. I need to tell you some news.”
“Oh, okay Dad. Let’s go in-” 
“No, Dustrose. Stay outside.”
“A-Alright I guess...”
I actually felt my heart rising up to my throat. It thumped like thunder.
“Dustrose, I need to go. Need to go to war between Fayutrist.” 
“Whats... What's Fayutrist?” 
“Small country not shown on the map. Apparent gun making country. I need to tell you. If I never return, I'd like you to go to your Great Uncle Steve.” 
“DAD! I mean, don’t do it. I don't want you to die in the line of duty. It's the worst thing ever. Just quit, Dad. If you want to live. If you don't want to do it for yourself, do it for me. This is the only thing I want you to do. Don't want no doll, or lip gloss. DO. This. I don't wanna lose my Dad to some Fayutristan weirdos!”
“I HAVE to. I was picked, either this or permanent life death sentence. I gotta take a chance, Pumpki-” he looks at his watch. “I gotta go Dustrose, remember what I said.” he hopped back on his motorcycle.
I went in front of his motor. 
“Pumpkin. Do this for me.” 
I felt several tears rolling in. I knew this was coming, but not so soon. I hugged him. “Daddy, I want you to know. I'll be there.” I searched for the half of my heart locket. I gave it to him. I wiped the tears. I knew he was gonna cry, too. He started his engine. He turned his motorcycle, and ran off to full time death.

Chapter 3~Risky Solutions

Knowing my father, he's an epically brave soldier. He's a true patriotic, and he will do anything for the country, even to die. Knowing myself, I am a pretty good risk taker. I'm not afraid of anything--Except I have arachnopedia, that means I'm deathly afraid of spiders and such.
I am going to follow my father. For my father I'd risk the world.
I swear I will.

I started packing for the big trip. I'd bring Moose.
