Summer Friends {story by summer}

Chapter One

Last day of school was the brightest day ever. Kids were all ready for summer. I looked around the playground and smiled.
"ready?" said my friend Luke to me and my other friend Izzie. "ready," we both said. I am Cara Violet Parker. This is my story.
"Luke your not going to catch me," Izzie said. "whatever," he said with a laugh. "why are you guys still playing tag. were 8th graders now," i said. "since when were you a party pooper," Luke said. i looked down at my shoes. "i'm not ruining anything. i'm just saying," i said. We all stood in silence. "Cara is something wrong?" Izzie said. "no," i said. I looked up at Izzie. Her eyes looked green in the sun. "hey. you have nice eyes Izzie," i said and then i laughed. Luke gave me that funny look. "uhhh thanks?" Izzie said with a weird face. "what? i'm trying to be nice," i said. "what kind of question is that though? huh care bear?" Luke said.
"Luke i hate when you call me care bear," i said and i looked down again. "why do you keep looking down?" he asked. "no reason," i said and looked up. I don't like looking at Luke because he can't be serious.
